gm music fans.
Web3 often exists in its own bubble so I’m always excited when artists find a way to way to bridge blockchain tools with their traditional music campaigns.
This week, we’re going deep into Jadyn Violet’s new music NFT project which cleverly evolves as his songs get more Spotify streams. Jadyn is a rising artist who single-handedly carried the community through the bear market with daily Twitter Spaces and hours of education. He’s a big inspiration to me so if you’re not familiar please give him a follow on Twitter.
Let’s get into it!
Ziggy Ziggy Season 3 is powered by Beatport.io.
From URL to IRL! After a successful genesis drop, Beatport.io is rolling out a series of live events. First up, an event in Lisbon featuring HE.SHE.THEY — a diverse club night and record label. In partnership with Polkadot, the event takes place on November 16th with FJAAK, W/, Wax Wings and SYREETA.
Headline story
Music NFT that evolves based on Spotify streams?
Raver Realm is a brand new music project with NFTs that evolve and give out rewards based on streaming activity.
Founded by Jadyn Violet, the project is built around nine songs. Each one comes with a different hand-drawn character from three different music realms.
The streaming rewards are triggered when the songs hit different milestones on Spotify, so the characters can level up and unlock new experiences.
The NFT contract is programmed to update after 1k streams, 5k, 10k, 25k and so on. For example, at 10k streams holders will get access to an upgradable character design. At 100k, holders will get lifetime access to Jadyn’s Ultraviolet Rave parties.
This isn’t the only music NFT linked to Spotify streaming activity. Earlier this year, Latin artist Xcelencia dropped El Niño Estrella — an album with artwork that evolves based on Spotify streaming targets.
I’m very bullish on these concepts and hope to see more of them. Web 2 and Web3 are still completely separate worlds for musicians right now and we need more ways to bring them together.
