Today we’re officially launching Ziggy Ziggy Music - a Twitter feed to help you discover the best musicians in Web3. Please go follow!
Every day we’ll post a short-form video featuring an artist and a short clip of their music.
We’ll tell some of their story and link to a marketplace for their NFTs.
The idea is to bring music NFT discovery right into your social feed.
We believe it’s the fastest path from discovery to collecting.
How to find breakout Web3 artists?
The reason for these videos is to make it easier for you to find breakout artists in Web3.
I spend at least 40 hours a week buried in the world of music NFTs.
I track 19 different music NFT platforms for releases. I’m in dozens of Telegram collector groups. I listen through music aggregators like Future Tape every day.
For a music geek like me it’s been incredible. I’ve discovered amazing new music and picked up more than 100 NFTs.
But I still can’t keep up.
The average music fan will never spend hours combing through NFT platforms. They expect good music to come to them - through social feeds and recommendations.
Ziggy Ziggy Music is our way of distilling hours of listening to music and researching trends to share our favourite snippets of music with you.
We are 100% confident that a global superstar will be born out of Web3 culture. And we want to help you discover them first.
Inspired by music blog culture
I grew up as an artist in the early days of Soundcloud, Hype Machine and blog culture.
It was a defining era for independent music discovery.
A decentralised web of different tastemaker blogs like Neon Gold, Crack in the Road and All Things Go - all run by the biggest music fans in the world. You could trust each one to curate music around a particular genre or theme.
It birthed some of the biggest artists we know today: Billie Eilish, Chainsmokers, The Weeknd, The 1975 and so many others.
We believe a similar thing is happening in Web3 music now. And we intend to be among the leading voices of the new independent wave of music NFTs.
Most important of all… make it easier for you to find and discover the best artists and musicians in Web3 music.
